Low Back Pain August 23
Sat 9a-4p 6 hrs Students will be given an advanced awareness of low back anatomy and the use of massage techniques to address issues particular to clients with chronic low back pain.
15% of the adult US population have had persistent back pain at some time in their lives. 5 million Americans are partially disabled by back problems, and 2 million are so severely disabled that they cannot work.
Using lecture, illustrations and handouts the instructor will describe some of the more common low back syndromes. The instructor will present detailed information on surface anatomy of the low back; described by structure, actions, and significance. By demonstration and table time, students will be taught several massage techniques used to work with low back pain.
